One set of Rear Control Arm Mount Skids includes both the passenger and driver's side units that protect the stock control arm mounts on a 3rd generation 4Runner. Full 1/4" laser cut plate steel, grade 8 hardware, and full length welds.

Lotus RCAMS (Rear Control Arm Mount Skids) fit 1996 - 2002 Toytoa 4Runners. They are direct bolt on and no welding or removal of the lower control arm is needed to install. Skids come powder coatedin black and ready for immediate installation.

Why you might want this? Toyota factory rear lower control arm mounts for the 4Runners are made of sheet steel and while they are built well for normal paved road conditions are easily deformed on impact when rock crawling. Since the factory mounts are welded to the frame the normal remedy for damaged mounts is to cut off the old ones and weld on new ones from a salvage yard 4Runner frame.

We designed these skids to bolt on without having to remove the lower control arm or do any welding. There's only one bolt making installation easy. On undamaged factory mounts they typically go on in about 15 minutes. Our skids have been engineered with spiral relief cuts to allow the skid to snug up against the stock mounts and prevent rattling (Patent pending). One set contains both a left and a right skid and the mounting hardware.
